Looking for Purple: End of the Rainbow

Purple is the paradoxical subject of this month’s search for Roy-G-Biv.

It stands out as the rarest color in nature but rarely stands alone…

Umbrella Rainbow

My search has revealed that it is a very social color.

Always surrounded by friends,

purple flowers

enhanced by the company it keeps

purple light

and the places it goes.

It just comes naturally.

  1. I feel like I’ve taken a great walk with you, checking all the beautiful violet choices…thanks!

    1. Thanks, Jennifer. It was probably the hardest color to isolate, until the day a girl wearing a purple t-shirt, came to the shop (where I quilt) with her purple quilt project. And, yes, I’m packed. Have been gathering for a couple of months. I feel like I will be so inspired that I can’t risk forgetting something. So looking forward to it!

  2. These are all really beautiful – from those subtle berries to those vivid parasols and those strips of quilt-in-the-making. Thanks so much for sharing.
